This is not a spoiler: the heroine's brother forbids her to do something. This is a spoiler: she thinks about it. She considers the pros and cons. She makes up her own mind rather than just acting contrary to her brother's authority. She talks about her decision with the other person it will affect and gives her the opportunity to make her own decision about the situation. I don't want to shock anyone, but there are grown ups in this novel. Other than that it's a standard regency romance with balls and calls, curricles in the park and terraces with dark corners.
